In the late 90s, the Screen Cinema in Dublin updated their signage system, disposing of the red, acrylic letter-set, in a skip outside. Amongst the letters I scavenged was the word ‘ALSO’, sloping downwards left to right on a single piece of clear acrylic. At the Screen, a short film was often played before the main feature, – an ‘also’ – part of the programme, but not the main attraction. Repurposing the sign I took the name for this imprint, and the lettering as logo.
