ALSO began as an entity through which to present work to students, and to present the work of students generated during modules at the School of Art & Design, TU Dublin.
This began with the pop-exhibition ‘Formats’ showing books and printed publications from my collection, in sizes ranging from very small books (60x87mm) to tabloid size; ‘Finishes’ was an exhibition of more than 90 books on which I have collaborated; the zine SELECT YOUR NETWORK stemming from the module ‘SELECT YOUR NETWORK message montage sequence’ which I piloted in the second semester, 2018; and a reference book table permanently located in the design studios. Subsequently we made a wall-work presenting 446 Instagram posts from students as part of their research during the module.
Current and on-going displays include slideshows and floorshows and a vitrine containing samples from various collections, all presented at TU Dublin School of Art & Design.
‘Also’ presentations have included gallery talks with artists Barbara Knezevic at Oonagh Young Gallery; filmmaker Paddy Cahill and architect and educator Simon Walker hosted by the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF); and with Eamonn Doyle and David Donohoe at Made in Dublin, The Complex, Dublin.
